Summer School 'Cognitive Modelling' 2017

The summer school ‘Cognitive Modelling’, was organized in the framework of the Priority Program 1772 Human performance under multiple cognitive task requirements: From basic mechanisms to optimized task scheduling funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).

At this summer school, four invited experts on cognitive modelling (Joachim Hermsdörfer, Technical University of Munich; Veronika Lerche, Heidelberg University; Klaus Oberauer, University of Zurich; Nicolas Schweighofer, University of Southern California) each presented a comprehensive program concerning their area of expertise. In the mornings, theoretical sessions were offered, during which the experts introduced cognitive models. Based on this, participants practiced model application with their own or simulated data during hands-on sessions in the afternoons.

The summer school provided the opportunities for information exchange and collaboration with junior researchers working on related topics outside the priority program. SPP PhD candidates and postdocs as well as external PhD students presented posters to share and discuss their work with each other and the invited experts. Moreover, research ideas inspired by input received during the summer school, were discussed in smaller work groups.
